2010 Camping schedule

Postby tnchuck100 » Mon Nov 02, 2009 10:48 am

I am sorry we couldn't attend the Cedar Creek campout. As many of you know we had some medical issues that got in the way. Since the scheduling meeting was missed by me I am left with a question I must ask.

Are the campgrounds and dates accurate as shown in the 2010 area? The reason I ask is the dates on the entries are September and the meeting was in October. I was about to start making reservations. When I discovered this discrepancy and thought I had better get a clarification before making any reservations.

I know you can reserve Rock Island and Joe Wheeler now. At Rock Island, you can cancel up to the week of your arrival and only lose $5.00 as a reservation fee. I am not sure about the cancellation policy at Joe Wheeler. At Joe Wheeler, you can reserve a spot, but not a specific site.

The best way to determine when to reserve is to go onto www.recreation.gov and put the date you want in and see if it could accept it. It is usually about 6 months in advance. That's how I do it.

Right now Cages Bend can be reserved for our dates.

I hope that helps.
