Camping for more than a weekend?

Postby RanCar » Thu Nov 05, 2009 12:28 pm

Does anyone go camping for more than a weekend? I spent 2 weeks at Poole Knobs this past summer. It's in LaVergne so close to everyone here. But you do have to make reservations online early. We're making a reservation for site 64 for at least a week in June. Then another site for a week later in the summer.

Randy and I plan on a trip out west but we're not sure when. I hope it's next summer some time. I'd like to go while we're still in good health and can get out there and see the sights once there.

Weekends go so fast. It's like we've just finished setting up, and it's time to pack it up and leave. :( I always feel I haven't finished camping yet. :|

Since I am retired, most of my weekend camps are at least 3 days, with many of them being at least a week.
This summer we started camping on May 22 and pulled in home July 8th. Visited Michigan and Connecticut.
When I moved it was non stop from point A to point B.

We went to California for 3 months.... We camped at a Good Sam Rally in New Mexico for a week and then went to Calif and stayed at friends for 6 weeks. While there we camping at Monterey for 3 days. After California we went to the state of Washington to visit more family... On the way back to Tennessee we visited Yellowstone, Devil's Tower and Mount Rushmore...
It was a blast....

I like those 3 day weekends myself. Get there Thursday and leave Sunday. Yep! I also like being on the road as you did for over a month, just wandering here and there and everywhere. :D If only my husband would go along and enjoy such a thing.

That was quite a trip. Isn't travel wonderful? :D So far we've been to NY visiting relatives, a Rally in PA, stopped in MD and a few other states on our way back and forth. I love to hit the road and having a TT is so convenient. It's like having my own private Motel room, complete with a small kitchen, everywhere. :)

I have a lot of plants that are causing some concern. I always have to find someone to water them if we're gone for more than a few days. I've given about 1/2 away. I may have to get rid of the rest if Randy and I are going to travel more.
