Heater issues

In order to locate your fan, you will have to remove the heater and the fan will be situated towards the back.

In relation to your problem, if you turn your heater on and your fan does not come on at all, the blower motor could be out, or the famous muddaubers have built a nest on the intake fan which locks up the fan.

To remove your heater, locate the return air duct vent. Inside there you will find a heater casing, two screws ought to remove the front cover. There will be one screw through the heat exchanger into the casing and into the floor (should be dead center), remove this screw and pull the whole heater out ( you may need to take one screw out of the vent on the outside, depending on your heater.

Watch the wires as you pull the heater out, they are all DC, but label them so you can put them back where they belong.

Now that you have your heater out, hook up your postive and negative to a battery, twist your t-stat wires together and everything should work. If it does not work, locate squirrel cage and make sure it is spinning freely. There will be a cover opposite the squirrel cage, remove it and check for any obstructions as this is your fresh air intake fan. Make sure your heater is good and clean too while you have it out.

If nothing is working during this checkout and your fan is not spinning freely, take the two wires going directly to the fan motor, hook them to positive and negative on a battery, if the motor does not run, it is shot. A fan motor is about $135.00.

Any questions, call our dealership 931-723-1501 and I will go over it with you again while you have your heater out for troubleshooting.
