I'm bein busy

Postby oysterpot » Fri Oct 09, 2009 10:53 pm

These are photos of 2 Oaks that we dropped and are in the process of cutting up. they are on my back door neighbors propery, but as you can see by how close they are to his shed and house, they had to be dropped on my property. I agreed to take the wood. Over 100 feet tall.

I'll have plenty of camp fire wood.

Why did you have to drop em? Storm damaged?

Neighbor was worried about limbs and stuff falling on house. Arborist told him they should have been dropped 20 years ago. We are also cleaning up the brush and planting my yard so that I can mow more.
Trees were on his side of property line. My lot comes to within 5 feet of his house, I think he is trying to entice me to sell him the section we are cleaning up. We are cutting up a total of 5 trees these 2 are by far the biggest. Afew more should be removed, but I don't want to cut them. I like trees.

What are your folks doing with the trees that you all dropped? Do they have to burn them?

they have to be burned onsite, due to the worm infection, fortunately 2 neighbors heat with wood, and we think they are close enough to meet specks

When we went through Northern Michigan this summer, there were wooded areas 200+ yards in from the roadway that were completely defoliated of dead, it was a very erie site.

What's bad is that there seems to be no end in site. :(

BK what is your formula for the calculation for the weight of the wood? Do you have one to calculate the number of ricks that are in the trunks?
