Looking at camp site from bath house. Notice river going down center of road way. And yes I had 2 hatch doors open.

Looks good!! I'm glad everyone was ok that couldn't have been fun.. but the stew looked real good so after sitting in the bath house for an hour it became your reward!!!

That's the way George!!! Got to protect that iron. Did you sneak out to stir the pot while everyone else was hunkered down?

The Iron was left alone only about 15 minutes. Then the threat and the bad stuff was gone so we went back to site to survey the sityeeation. All was OK except the dumb hatch doors being open. Fortunately not too much rain got in.

I had to take a towel and soak up the water that had collected on the lid, and then was able to check the stew. Again all was OK. Yup stirred a bit and then went and got the biscuits (scratch not womp) to put on top.

Glad the stew made it. It would have been a travesty to sacrifice a piece of good cast iron to mother nature.

Well I can't put my flag at half mast
(it all ready is until all our boys are home from IRAQ)

But I sure would be in mourning if I had lost my pot. I tried to get my wife to go lay on top of it till the storm passed, but she would have nothin to do wit that idea. I was nervous.
