Banana Boats

Get your spoons ready! This irresistible campfire treat combines the gooey goodness of marshmallows and chocolate chips, stuffed in ripe bananas, wrapped in foil and cooked until the chocolate melts.

Ingredients
2 bananas
1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup miniature marshmallows
Cooking Instructions
Slit each banana lengthwise through the peel, making sure not to cut all the way through to the other side. Stuff the bananas with marshmallows and chocolate chips.
Wrap each banana in aluminum foil and cook over a fire, on the barbecue, or in a 300 degree oven for 5 minutes or until chocolate is melted. Eat with a spoon.

We have made these several times when camping. I personally love peanut and banana, so I put peanut butter chips on them too. It's like eating a banana and a reeses at the same time!

Those sound awesome! Wonder how they'd be with some ice cream on top...that would blow the nutritional stats right over the edge.

I tried this years ago when the boys were still young...and well lets say it just didn't turn out as good and it sounds like it should. I think I over cooked the banana. And burnt banana is not so good.

These are real popular with girl scouts we've done them there but keep saying we want to do them with the family I'm thinking like Donna ice cream with choc & caramel syrup and then don't forget the cherries!! :D

And you are right burnt bananas aren't that good! so we'll have to practice to get it just right!

I have never heard of this before, sounds very tasty! I'm thinking chocolate and strawberries. This is going to have to go on the menu for the upcoming cub scout campout, Thanks Dale!
