Anyone following the search for the new first dog? The first pets are an interest of mine. Well actually I like the history of the White House too. I don't think Obama's wife is all that keen on the dog idea. She just doesn't look like a dog person. Kim |

Fox News reported this morning they are getting the Waterdog....the girls picked Moose, Frank, or Nixt for the names....Michelle said she wants something a little more creative!!! |

Yeah, I read that too. But late yesterday afternoon Michelle's press secretary release a statement saying People's magazine was not correct...NO BREED had been decided on. So this leads me to wondering what is really going on with this story Kim PS - I think the girls want a labordoodle, but their mama wants the water dog. I think Obama just wants the subject behind him and maybe a boost in the poll numbers. |

I've heard that he promised to get a rescue dog so it seemed odd to me that they chose a Water Dog. Those are rare (as well as expensive) so I doubt they would be easy to find in shelters. I do hope they choose a shelter animal, though. His little girls would love a little puppy, I'm sure. |

This is just my bad side coming out...but, I think they will get whatever breed they decide on from a shelter, however, I think the dog will have been PLACED there for them to rescue - if you get my meaning. I just hope they do find a pupy that the girls want and will be a good match for them. Most Port water dogs are high energy, so I question this choice. But I'm not the parent. Kim |

I think those pics of that dog running Obama all over the white house lawn are a riot. |

Yeah. If what I have read is true, the family has a lot to learn. Neither Mom or Dad has ever had a dog. It should be a good learning experience for the girls. Kim |
